Pork & Cabbage Miso Soup



Ingredients
200gm pork ribs
1 pkt pork balls
1 small chinese cabbage, remove core, cut into chunks
1 carrot, slice
1 whole garlic, separate and leave skin on
1 stalk spring onion, slice

Seasoning:
2-3 tbsp miso paste
2 tbsp mirin

Method

  1. Blanch pork ribs
  2. Add to 2 litres of boiling water
  3. Add garlic and mirin
  4. Simmer for 2-3 hours till pork ribs softened
  5. Add cabbage
  6. Boil till desired softness
  7. Add pork balls
  8. Boil for 10 mins
  9. Using a bowl, add miso paste and some hot soup
  10. Stir well before pouring into soup pot
  11. Bring to boil
  12. Add spring onions
  13. Serve as part of a meal
